Alexander County EDC awarded two grants totaling $1.1 million for grading at Alexander Industrial Park
June 16, 2022 — The Alexander County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) was awarded two grants totaling $1,132,412, according to David Icenhour, Executive Director. The EDC most recently received a $500,000 grant from the North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) for the purpose of grading a site in the Alexander Industrial Park.

Construction of the double rail spur at the new Borealis Compounds facility in Alexander County, NC is about 50 percent complete. Spur construction is being completed by Keith Benfield Contractors. Alexander Railroad Company will provide rail service to the new plant.
